The Kentucky Institute for International Studies is a consortium of colleges and universities dedicated to providing quality international education. KIIS is founded on the conviction that an international experience should be part of the education of as many people as possible.
Since 1990, Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çSOTA students have had the opportunity to study in Salzburg, Austria for five weeks each summer. Each student takes up to 6 undergraduate or graduate credits that apply toward the completion of their degrees. Classes, workshops, and masterclasses are conducted by faculty from the KIIS consortium, as well as by professional European artists from a variety of disciplines.
Salzburg is renowned as an international and historical center for the performing arts. The prestigious Mozarteum conservatory draws the very best students and faculty from all over the world. During the Salzburg program Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çstudents have the opportunity to attend a full range of masterclasses, recitals, concerts, and dance and theatre productions at the Mozarteum for free, as well as world-class performances in a variety of other Salzburg venues, in Munich, in Vienna, and other European cities. While living in Salzburg, students attend morning classes five days a week with weekends set aside for independent travel and exploration.
