Bold text across the center reads: β€œWhy Are You a Global Supply Chain Management Major: Hear from Two of Our Current Students,” followed by β€œHaile College of Business” in gold lettering.

But, don’t take our word for it. Recently we sat down with two of our current Global Supply Chain Management majors, Logan Pruetz, from Alexandria, KY, and Jude Ciris, from Cincinnati OH to learn why they chose to become a Global Supply Chain Management student.

Home Depot to Haile College

Logan credits a job he had with Home Depot as his first encounter with supply chain. β€œI talked with an upper manager in operations and he kind of described the process to me of how their supply chain works and I found that like just baffling how something can get from one place to another going through all these different processes and that's why I figured supply chain's best.” Logan said.

Further, Logan describes his time working in the garden center as solidifying his interest in Global Supply Chain. β€œI worked in the garden section so that's an even bigger, during the springtime you get all these flowers and you know you get all these trucks coming in with all these different flowers and it's just amazing how they all come off the truck, they're all perfect condition. And you know this takes a lot of people working together to get it to this place on time.

Finally, Logan says, β€œI love supply chain.” When asked why he answered, β€œThere's a lot of opportunities with it. I feel like there's a lot of job security with it and these, you know, next few decades, it's going to be a large process of how we advance as a civilization. And I think it's important for me to find a way to get myself into that.

Above Average Compensation

Jude Ciris, from Cincinnati, OH, wastes no time in describing why he chose to study Global Supply Chain Management. β€œSupply chain management has an above average growth projection compared to other industries and they also have very nice job security thanks to the demand. Supply chain management compensation is also almost 20% above average according to the ASCM.

Jude also loves the flexibility that Global Supply Chain Management provides, β€œsupply chain management is a great degree to get and there are also a lot of varying roles. So if one role does not suit you, there are lots of different types of roles within supply chain management that might be a good fit for you.

Conclusion

Deciding on a major is a big decision for students and their families. We want our students get into good careers making a good living.
