April 19, 2023 - Students in NKU’s Haile College of Business stood out and gave an outstanding performance at The 2023 Econ Games, finishing in third place out of 18 teams with the youngest team in the competition. The 2023 Econ Games were held on March 23-24th at Gatton College of Business and Economics at the University of Kentucky.
The joint program, developed by Âé¶¹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çand UK to connect students with industry partners, gave students an excellent opportunity to showcase their economic business data skills, connect with top industry sponsors, and demonstrate their sharp analytical skills. Eighteen Âé¶¹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çstudents participated with the competition featuring 120 participants from 12 institutions across the country.
Ryan Goss, director of the Center for Economic Education at Âé¶¹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾ç, expressed his delight in his students' achievements.
"As a proud professor of the Haile College of Business, I am thrilled to share the exciting news of our students' exceptional performance at The Econ Games. Their performance was a testament to the caliber and quality of education that we offer at the Haile College of Business," Goss said.
The Âé¶¹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çteam comprised of captains Allyson Kunkel, James Blazina, Becca Wilson and Asia Norman, in addition to team members Reach Thearith, Anna Vroegindewey, Mary Merklin, Mariam Sidiahmed, and Jamen Walz. Goss and Abdullah Al-Bahrani served as faculty advisors.
The Haile College of Business is immensely grateful for the support and funding it received, without which its students' success would not have been possible. The college looks forward to continuing this tradition of excellence and is excited to host The Econ Games competition at Âé¶¹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çin 2024.
