Gateway2Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çis a dual-admissions partnership between Gateway Community & Technical College and Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾ç. This site is provided for transfer assistance for students working toward the completion of an associate degree planning to transfer from Gateway Community and Technical College to Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾ç.  The information provided on this website does not take the place of an advisor or counselor on your campus.

Pathways to Degree Completion


The pathway guides are advising tools designed to help community college students plan for transferring to Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çto complete their baccalaureate degree. The pathway guides also constitute an agreement between community colleges and universities confirming that community college courses meet major preparation requirements.

Benefits

  • Assigned academic advisors at both Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çand Gateway
  • Access to Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çevents and facilities (e.g., sporting events, Rec Center)
  • Up to four Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çclasses at the Gateway tuition rate
  • Transfer Coordinator to assist in transitioning
  • Access to Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çresources (e.g., Library, Tutoring)
  • Students can apply to live in Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çresidence halls (subject to availability, additional fees apply)
  • Students can park on NKU's campus at a reduced rate

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at GCTC
  • Enrolled in an Associate degree program
  • Plan to transfer to NKU 
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA at GCTC 
  • Must have at least 15 earned and in-progress credit hours to be eligible to take your first course at Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çthrough the Gateway2Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çprogram

HOW TO APPLY TO THE PATHWAY PROGRAM

The Gateway2Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çProgram has a simple application. Please read the instructions on applying first. If you are not yet enrolled at GCTC, apply for admission to GCTC and enroll in an Associate degree plan.

Once you are admitted to Gateway, just fill out the . Note: You will need to maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA throughout the program.

Ready to Transfer?

When the time comes for you to transfer to Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çfrom Gateway, there are a few steps that need to be completed. Please use this checklist to ensure all steps are completed in order to facilitate a smooth transfer.

  • Complete the . (The application fee will be waived.)
  • Make sure Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çis on your FAFSA if you receive Financial Aid. The Â鶹ËÞÉáµçÊÓ¾çschool code is 009275. Do this as early as possible!

Once admitted, the following items should be taken care of, if applicable:

  • Review the requirements for the KCTCS Scholarship
  • Apply for all other scholarships using the .
  • If you are currently in TRiO-Student Support Services at Gateway, apply now to join for the upcoming term.
  • If you are currently in the Ready to Work program at Gateway, contact the office at 859-572-5988.
  • Sign up for (The orientation fee will be waived.)
  • Meet with your academic advisor to schedule your classes.
